Welcome
To The Hall! The
one thing I've always tried to do with Madden is to make it as close to
a professional sport as possible. If the NFL had a website, then I wanted
one for Madden. If there were talk shows for sports, then I wanted one
for Madden. If billiards, poker or cricket can have a National Championship,
then why can't we have one for Madden? And so here we are once again adding
something else to the community in an effort to make it more exciting
and enjoyable...The Hall of Fame. Why
the heck do you need a Hall of Fame for Madden? Well, to be honest, you
really don't. And while we are at it...you can say the same about Madden
itself....we don't need it either. However, it is here to stay, and we
enjoy it, so we may as well make the most of it while we are competing. One
of the reasons I wanted to start the Hall was to not only highlight the
significant contributions of those that have advanced the game that is
near and dear to my heart, but to also develop a historical archive for
the Madden players of future generations. Just as we strive to educate
the younger players in the community about the great players, the great
times, and the golden days of Madden, we must not only share with the
younger players of today, we must leave behind our legacy to those that
will play the game 5-10 years from now. It
is often said that in order to move forward, one most know from whence
they came. This is certainly true in the Madden community. And that is
why we need a Hall of Fame. What the MWS has established over the past
7 years is truly special. The MWS has become a haven for the most dedicated
ballers in the world. And while there may be criticism about the regulation
of game play and other issues that plague the community, the MWS can hang
its hat on being the community that has done the most to advance the game
of Madden since its inception in the last 13 years. After all communities
like Madden Central may have been here before us, but where are they now?
And there were no communities established dedicated to console gaming.
Among
our contributions to the Madden World are , the first ever Madden National
Championships (going on number 7) consultants to the development of the
game, the home of the best Madden competition hands down....(just ask
the last 3 EA champions), and now here we are promoting the establishment
of a Hall of Fame. So
as we get ready to enshrine our very first class, I want to welcome you
to the Madden Players Hall of Fame. I hope that from this experience you
can gather a true appreciation of the game, the players, and those who
have helped to make the game what it is today. I
look forward to seeing all of you in Miami! Swammi
