3rd & Long's 8 Pack

The PFL draft is Aug 31st and the INSIDER thought we would give you a look in the world of drafting and our picks of the best and worst teams available. We will start with the worst 8 picks and check us out each day for the next best 8 picks.

How did we come up with our 8 picks? We did not look at overall ratings because they can be misleading. We looked at team defense, running game, which includes the O line, and the passing game.

If you are drafting in the bottom 8, expect to see some of the following teams available to you unless somebody gets crazy and drafts one of these teams early.

Chargers - The Insider feel this is by far the worst team on the game this year. I know they have LT at RB and Rivers is a pretty good QB. The D is missing a CB they have a very poor O line, and you get nothing from their pass rush. Good set of LB’s they are a lock at 32.

49ers - Can you say Peterson? Because outside of that there is not much else. The O line is decent. The back is a power type that will get yards. NO pass rush and yes I know they have Carter. No real WR’S to speak of; You could have some degree of success with this team because they play 4 games vs. teams that have trouble with the running game in the division.

Cardinals - Everybody is hyped for the passing attack the Cards have, however no Defense equals losses. The Cards are horrible on D and they will continue to be a bottom 3 team until somebody addresses the D on this team. They just cut their best Offensive Linemen Kendall a couple of weeks ago. Excellent passing game with great WR’S but if you want to make the playoffs you need D.

Cleveland - Here is a team with a decent D ans a great tight end in K2. They have problems at wide out in my opinion. You can bump the WR’s on Cleveland to sleep! The lack the strength to get off the bump combined with the poor O line, equals losses. However you are in a division that is winnable with a team like Cleveland.

Bears - Of course you have the best MLB not named Lewis in the game. They just traded away a pretty good WR and picked up a very good D end. That should help them when the next updated roster comes out. Prior to this trade they had a glaring weakness at DE. I still don’t like their running game yet either, although they have a couple of very good O linemen in Tait and Kreutz. I would not take any higher than 28 or 27.

Texans - Everybody is calling this team a sleeper team. I like them but don’t think they are a sleeper pick. They are a decent team with above average players all over the team. I don’t like the side arm QB, but love their running game and the D is solid. They have one of the best groups of WR’S the game. Expect them to be there at 22-24.

Saints - Here is a team with a good front 4, outstanding running back with excellent WR’S. The secondary is a little shaky, however, they have a Good TE and a good Mobile QB. If you can live with the CB play of this team they would become a solid pick at 22-25 ranges.

Jets - I don’t like the WR’S here either. Martin looks like he has lost a step or the game is running slower. D is just average; I love Chad on the game though.....nice arm. Other than that....thats it!

There you have it! My bottom eight picks, tomorrow we look at the next eight on our way to the number 1 pick.
