3rd & Long's 8 Pack

The PFL draft is Aug 31st and the INSIDER thought we would give you a look in the world of drafting and our picks of the best and worst teams available. We will start with the worst 8 picks and check us out each day for the next best 8 picks.

How did we come up with our 8 picks? We did not look at overall ratings because they can be misleading. We looked at team defense, running game, which includes the O line, and the passing game.

If you are drafting in the top 8, expect to see some of the following teams available to you unless somebody gets crazy and drafts one of these teams early.

1. New England -- The Pats are the best team on the game, They have the best group of LB's on the game, in fact Colvin, who is a the high 80's can't even crack the starting lineup.  They have speed on the O, although the line is a little low for a number one team. But I do think this is the best pick at number one.

2. Green Bay -- A very close 2nd!  They have all the weapons on O; big corners with an excellent Dline and of course BRETT. They do lack quality and depth at the LB position however, but that is about the only weakness with this team.  I could have called them 1A, but people know how I love this team.  I could argue them at the number one pick, but since I have love for them 1A is fine.

3. Minnesota -- They are plain and simple my baked potato of the draft, LOADED!   They have 2 outstanding D tackles and speed and size everywhere on the offensive side of the ball.  They also have some guy named MOSS who I think is pretty good.

4. Philadelphia -- Everybody loves the QB who can run but this QB also has a defense.  The Eagles are a solid team and now adding
HUGH back into the mix will only make them more of a problem to deal with.  The D was already solid, he will only make it tougher for the NFC East. I don't like the running game, but with the great O line play you may be able to move the ball on the ground with them.  Don't like the WR's outside of T.O. but, they may have enough to get it done.

5. Indianapolis -- One of a few teams that can boast 2 80 speed DE's. They are solid on D!  A great TE/RB combo and  of course the Manning and Marvin show is still in tack.  Don't like much in the way of WR's after Marvin.  They play in a very tough Division, however Indy is a solid team with a top 5 O.

6. Kansas City -- Best OLine in the game so what else is new?  Best TE in the game so what else is new?  Best RB in the game?   Ok bartender stop the drinks right there!  This is a tight team on the O side of the ball but if you draft them you had better have finished Defense 101 and made a top grade in the course. I feel this is one of the very few teams on the game who can't and should not play man coverage. The weakness is glaring. However stopping them means bring your hard hat and back pack to the park you will need it

7. Atlanta --   If you pick this team it means you have VICK plans and with fatigue off, those plans just got better.  Couple of nice WR's great running game with the combo pack DUNN and Duckett.  You to will have to take the D 101 course and made a passing grade if you plan to draft the Falcons.  I do like there D better than KC's however.

8. Miami --  I promise you this....if you pick this team you will have done very well in the draft.  This is my dark horse as the best pick in the draft, maybe not the best team.....but the best pick.  ( Oline issues)  They will have a singleback normal package that will be hard to deal with.  BOSTON, BOOKER, McMichael and CHAMBERS.....that is very nice.  The last time I checked they still have D in MIAMI.  Very good D if you ask me.  Lack of a running game and Oline is the only weakness on this team.  With the right passing scheme you could get past those issues.
