How Match Play Works:

Match Play Scenarios

The two ballers would play in a best of 5 series worth 15 points.
The winner of the series would earn ranking points based on the margin of victory for the entire series. The looser of the series would have ranking points deducted based on the margin of victory for the entire series. In other words, winning the series 3-0 would gain more points than winning 3-2. Likewise, loosing the series 3-2 is not as big a reduction as loosing the series 3-0.
Margin of victory points:
3-2 victory= 9 pts. for the winner, -9 for the looser
3-1 victory= 12 pts. for winner, - 12 for the looser
3-0 victory= 15 pts. for winner, -15 for the looser

*For example, #9 ranked Dell Barton can play 3 ballers ranked below him in match play. After he has played those three games, he must play
a higher ranked opponent before he can play a 4th opponent ranked below him.
