The Q Factor

It seems that Qboy is like fine wine....he just gets better with time.

Last year Qboy came on the scene late in the MWS season getting to the final four of the KOTC championships, winning the MWS Online Championship Series then reaching the Sweet 16 at Nationals before bowing out to eventual semi-finalist The Champ. (EBC)

This year Q picked up where he left off, dominating in the KOTC circuit, grabbing an winning the EA Challenge in Houston, and making headlines once again knocking off Sandman in the KOTC championships this year.

DFW Metroplex Resident - QBoy

Qboy lost to MoWash in the finals of the KOTC tourney but he gained the respect of many, and came into Nationals as one of the favorites to upend The Realist quest for back to back championships. It seemed as though the dream matchup would take place once the two ballers reach the Nationals Elite 8. QBoy lined up against Big Fish and Realist was lining up against Big Game James. Qboy held his own dominating Fish, but the defending champion Realist was KO'd crafty young James, setting up a matchup between Big Game and Qboy.

Obviously Big Game held off the determined Q, 46-43 before advancing to win the title. While there is no real consolation in losing, sometimes losing to the eventual champion seems to soften the blow. But not for the DFW Madden star QBoy, who was looking to add a National Championship to his already impressive resume.

What has been impressive about QBoy has been his consistency. Impressive in all of his tournaments, Q is getting closer and closer to nabbing that one major that will keep him the fore front of the community when the elite ballers are mentioned. With a top five MWS ranking in the bag Qboy has earned his way to marquee baller status. And the new and improved Madden should cater to Qboy's style of play, highlighting his excellent ability to read the coverage, and his tenacity on defense.

Sweet 16 in 2003. Final 4 in 2004? New and improved Madden in 2005?

Look for Qboy to be solid once again this season. But the question is, Is This The Year He Brings Home The Major?
