Nationals 7 - Miami, FL General Information Dates: Friday July 15, Saturday, July 16, Sunday, July 17, 2005 Location: Miami, FL Site: Intercontinental Hotel, downtown Miami If arriving by air, most major airlines offer nonstop flights from most major cities directly into Miami (MIA). The airport is approximately 8 miles from the Intercontinental hotel. It should take 15-20 mins by shuttle or cab depending upon the traffic. The traffic is heavy in the afternoon from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. You may find Super Shuttle a viable option to the hotel at $12.00 per person, one way. They will be located at baggage claim. Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is approximately 25 miles north of downtown Miami and would be approximately a 30-35 minute drive depending upon traffic as well. The Shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale is $25 to Miami, however it is more expensive returning from MIA. Ballers may want to research this option before booking into Ft. Lauderdale and traveling by shuttle. South Beach is a 5-10 minute cab ride from the hotel and would cost approximately $10-$15 depending upon traffic. Traffic to the night spots can be heavy at night as well. There are plenty of rental car options available, you may even rent Enterprise from the hotel. However, hotel parking is $20.00 per day at the hotel parking garage. The hotel is just steps away from Bayside Marketplace which is ideal for shopping and dining right on Biscayne Bay. The American Airlines Arena is also within walking distance from the hotel in case there are any major sporting events/concerts in town during the weekend. The Intercontinental Hotel is also the headquarters for Zo's Summer Groove, the annual charity event weekend that features superstars from the sports, entertainment and political arenas.
